With 4 or 8 HDMI inputs depending on the model, you can connect multiple cameras for different views. Video cameras with HDMI outputs are better quality than simple webcams as they use higher quality lenses and have better low light sensitivity. All video sources will re-sync to the switcher if they operate at different video standards so you don't have to worry about connecting video devices as they all just work! Cameras with HDMI often support interchangeable lenses so you can change to wide angle lenses for wide shots and zoom lenses for close ups. Imagine taking advantage of the low light capability of better cameras for theater production, weddings, school concerts and music videos!


Each of the HDMI inputs feature their own dedicated standards converter. That means ATEM Mini will automatically convert 1080p, 1080i and 720p sources to the switcher video standard! By default the switcher will set its video format automatically, however you can also set the switcher to any video standard! The HDMI outputs are a true "aux" output so you can clean switch each HDMI input to the output. You can even "direct" switch input 1 to the HDMI output for low latency eSport productions. Let's take a look at the problem. An SD image, and we've got more than 60 years of them, has a resolution of at best 640x480 pixels. Old-school analog SD isn't actually in pixels (the building blocks of a digital image), but for ease of understanding let's use these numbers, as they're roughly comparable. Most HDTVs these days are 1080p, meaning they have a resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels.


Dealing with 1080i brings in an entirely new issue: deinterlacing. A 1080i signal is interlaced, as in every sixtieth of a second the TV receives a 1,920x540-pixel image (the odd lines of the image), and the following sixtieth of a second it gets a slightly different 1,920x540-pixel image (the even lines of the image). The TV weaves these together to create the full 1,920x1,080-pixel-resolution picture. How well a TV combines these "fields" into "frames" is another performance differentiator. The plight of the paltry audio emanating from those shining new HDTVs is well documented. My oft-repeated suggestion is to purchase a sound bar or even better a dedicated multi-channel sound system as a replacement to those tiny speakers integrated in those great looking TVs.If you wince at the thought of the expense of building such a kit, you will be pleasantly surprised at the price tag of this Sony STR-DH750 AV Receiver, which can serve as an extremely capable foundation for a medium-sized room's multi-speaker audio setup.Rated at 145W x 7, the able-bodied STR-DH750 supplies enough power to rock and rumble. At screen sizes of 60" and above, 1080p resolution really helps to maintain that smooth, seamless, lifelike picture quality. 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) is the highest TV resolution available — it puts twice as many pixels on screen as a 720p TV. A 1080p display is also an ideal match for 1080i HDTV programs and high-definition HD DVD players.

All 1080p TVs are designed to display images at 1080p resolution, but the MD6580n is one of the very few 1080p models that also accepts 1080p signals. While 1080p signal sources are limited to high-performance PCs and video processors for now, 1080p-capable inputs will help ensure that your TV can make the most of future video gear, like high-definition disc players.


1080p Resolution: The advanced 1080p display produces about 2 million pixels on screen, which is more than twice that of a conventional 720p display. This allows 1920x1080i signals to be displayed without scaling down the image to 1280x720. By simply de-interlacing the full 1080i signal, this display keeps the full image detail.


Native Resolution: The md6580n has a display resolution of 1920x1080. The HDMI and component video inputs will accept 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i signals, and all input signals are displayed as 1920x1080.


HDMI Inputs (1&2): In addition to the HDMI jack, the HDMI 2 input has stereo RCA audio inputs. The HDMI jacks can accommodate copy-protected digital connections (HDCP) to other devices (such as digital set-top boxes) that have compatible interfaces. If you want to connect a DVI-compatible device, you will need an HDMI-to-DVI adapter cable. The HDMI jacks will accept 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i signals.
